Rob Weil - Head Coach, Los Alamitos High School Softball

Rob Weil stands as one of Southern California's most accomplished and respected softball coaches, bringing over three decades of excellence to Los Alamitos High School. With an extraordinary career that spans multiple championship programs, Coach Weil has established himself as a transformative leader in girls' fast-pitch softball that has helped numerous players continue on and play college softball.

A Legacy of Championships

Coach Weil's impressive resume includes 22 coaching awards, six CIF championships, five PGF championships, three NCFA Championships, and nine California State championships. His ability to build winning programs is matched only by his commitment to developing student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.

Coaching Career Highlights

Pacifica High School (1989–2005)Coach Weil built a dynasty at Pacifica High School, capturing five CIF Division III Championships, three California State Championships, and 15 Garden Grove League titles. His teams earned national recognition with one NFCA ranked Championship and two NFCA Runner-up rankings, establishing him as one of the premier coaches in the state.

Mater Dei High School (2006–2007)Served as Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls Fast-Pitch Softball program.

Los Alamitos High School (2009–Present)Since arriving at Los Alamitos, Coach Weil has continued his winning tradition with nine Sunset League Championships and a historic 2017 season that saw the Griffins capture both the CIF Division 1 Championship and NFCA National Champions honors. Most recently, he led the team to a Division 2 CIF title in 2025.

Travel Ball Success

Beyond high school, Coach Weil has made an indelible mark on travel ball softball (1997–2024), winning seven State Championships and five Premier National Championships (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016) at the 18 Gold level, plus the 2006 ASA National Championship at 16U. His teams have earned 13 Top 10 finishes at national tournaments.
